Call For Entries 2017
The annual Bremen Award for Video Art supports the realisation and
presentation of two video art projects. We welcome classical, linear,
audiovisual, installation concepts, as well as ideas that challenge
the boundaries of media art. Only as of yet unrealised projects are
eligible for funding.
Application deadline: 20/03/2017
Awards: 1st Prize: 5.000 EUR 2nd Prize: 1.500 EUR
The prize money shall be used for the realisation of the artistic
concept. The selected works will first be exhibited in Bremen. Towards
this means, the Filmbüro helps to organise an exhibition of the award
winning works in 2018. The exhibition traditionally takes place in one
of Bremen’s prestigious museums or galleries.
Video artists from all German-speaking countries, as well as those
from Bremen’s or Bremerhaven’s twin cities are invited to apply.
Students are welcome. The call is not age-restricted. The jury will
award at least one of the two prizes to an applicant from Bremen,
Bremerhaven or their twin cities (Besançon, Cherbourg, Dalian, Danzig,
Durban, Frederikshavn, Grimsby, Haifa, Izmir, Kaliningrad, Pori, Riga
and Szczecin). Applications must be submitted in German or English.
Each applicant may only submit one concept. The prizes will each year
be awarded by a different independent jury.
