(festival) Transmediale 2017: ever elusive (2017-02-03 to 2017-02-05)

Transmediale writes:

Under the title ever elusive transmediale celebrates its 30 year anniversary with an entire month of activities from 2 February to 5 March 2017. The approach taken to the anniversary is contemporary rather than retrospective: ever elusive – thirty years of transmediale aims to use the critical and artistic knowledge gained at the festival over the years to reframe the question of the role of media today. In a world where technology increasingly operates independently of humans, where does the power to act and mediate lie?

Retune Festival is looking for performances, installations, space design, experiences, workshops, talks, screenings, games, networking ideas, etc, for this year’s event. The projects should refer to one of the festival’s topics (but they might open an exception for nice nice very nice projects not connected to them).

Retune Festival writes:

The Retune Festival 2016 will transform a school building from the past into a playground of the futures. From October 6-8, the house and its surrounding neighbourhood in Berlin-Kreuzberg opens up to international artists, researchers, designers and creative coders. Creating a space for dialogues around the aesthetic-technological practices that are changing today’s society and our future relations to technology. (festival) transmediale/conversationpiece 03-07.02.2016

transmediale reboots itself with a new performative and participatory
format for its 29th edition. With the name Conversation Piece, the
event creates an intensive space of exchanges, murmurs, and
transitions, with dialogues initiated before the event and continued
afterwards. Rather than a monothematic festival with static exhibition
and program structures, artistic and research practice will unfold
live through discussions, lectures, workshops, temporary
installations, and various experimental hybrid formats. On our updated
website, you can now find the first program details and an overview of
our curatorial team.

transmediale is a Berlin-based festival and year-round project that
draws out new connections between art, culture and technology. All
activities of transmediale aim at fostering a critical understanding
of contemporary culture and politics as saturated by media
technologies. In the course of its 29 year history, the annual
transmediale festival has turned into an essential event in the
calendar of media art professionals, artists, activists and students
from all over the world. Since 2011, transmediale also has an all-year
ongoing activity, including a residency programme. These activities
provide a sustainable structure of feedback, research and reflection
that interacts with the yearly festival.

(festival) CYNETART 2015 12–15.11.2015
