what ever happened to Anachronism?

HÖR BERLIN … such a nice setup. an inspiration for us to maybe design a specific setup as well. not that we should copy this in any particular way but i really do like the straight-forward-ness of the setup.

modular monday? why modular? why monday?

well, monday because most things related to this project are scheduled for mondays.

modular this is a bit of a historic artifact. of course it is a reference to modular synths, which are an interesting technical and cultural fragment, however, MM is definitely not limited to it. AAMOF modular if anything relates much more to the idea of many things coming together, connected through some sort of protocol, interface, lowest-common-denominator.

and to be honest the name Modular Monday is mostly a reference and nod to a certain peer group, attitude, style, genre and mindset.

so what is this project about? this implementation is about: designing, planing, hosting, participating and enjoying a series of situations ( i.e performance events ) involving but not limited to artifacts + electronics + sound + music + people.

Modular Monday? wait a minute, didn t i hear that before somewhere? yes, likely! Modular Monday ( MM ) was initiated by Timo, Timon, and myself. the idea was to facilitate an informal space for people interested in all things related to Artifacts + Electronics + Sound + Music. we have already met a few times, made some music/sound/noise and showed us our devices, equipment and gear.

in a way this is now turning the page and starting a second chapter: still interested in Artifacts + Electronics + Sound + Music but juxtaposing it with the idea of the performance or the deliberatly designed or created situation, the occasion or the scene if you will … and what s more important the feedback and conversations from other people to these contributions.

dear diary, i have decided to try something else this time. there is no one project description but rather a developer diary that i will populate with a few statements or excerpts from conversations i had with people or quotes snippets etcetera. here we go … if you have questions or want to spark any kind of conversation feel free to DM me on mattermost or post in the channel Modular Monday
